Conservative Restoration — Jacopo Dotti

Jacopo Dotti's work in the conservation, restoration, and enhancement of cultural heritage stems from his 20-year experience at Revolux Studios and his specialization as a Cultural Heritage Technician—a rare path in the Italian landscape, allowing him to follow a restoration project from the initial survey to the supervision of works under the Superintendence, including historical research, technical surveys, graphic rendering, and funding. This work is developed with Revolux Studios and its dedicated Restoration Conservation division.

Themes of practice

Heritage as a collective cultural archive
In Jacopo Dotti's approach, cultural heritage isn't a possession of the few: it's the memory of the territory, the foundation of its identity, and an opportunity for development. Restoring a Venetian villa, a historic building, or a votive shrine means giving back to the community a piece of its own narrative. This work engages with photographic research on heritage documentation and architectural practice in redevelopment.

The relationship with the Superintendency

Every intervention on a protected cultural property requires a technical relationship with the local Superintendencies: Padua-Venice, Emilia-Romagna, Rome, and Pesaro-Urbino. This activity requires regulatory expertise, technical negotiation skills, and in-depth knowledge of conservation procedures—skills developed over ten years of experience working on highly complex projects.

Drone surveys and three-dimensional renderings

The practice uses professional equipment for photographic, videometric, and drone surveys—essential for documenting roofs, historic facades, and large complexes. 2D and 3D graphic renderings allow for the scientific and communicative analysis of damage, degradation, and historical stratifications.

Obtaining funds and legal instruments

A specialized area of expertise: obtaining public, European, ministerial, foundation, and private funding for restoration. Preparation of technical documentation, estimates (CME – Computo Merico Estimativo), notifications of cultural interest, and sponsorship, loan, or donation agreements.
